Before we get into the formal stuff — welcome. GrowMyGarden exists because planning a garden shouldn’t be complicated or expensive. Everything here is free: the calculators, the guides, the tips. In return, I just ask that you use the site fairly and honestly.

These Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using GrowMyGarden. They’re written in plain English because you deserve to actually understand what you’re agreeing to. If something doesn’t make sense, feel free to reach out.

By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, that’s okay — but please don’t use the site.

🌱 1. What GrowMyGarden Is

GrowMyGarden (https://growmygarden.info/) is a free, independently run gardening website. It provides home gardeners with free planning calculators and practical growing guides covering vegetables, herbs, fruits, flowers, indoor plants, and pest control.

This is not a commercial product platform, subscription service, or membership site. You don’t need an account. You don’t need to pay anything. You just show up, use the tools, read the guides, and hopefully grow something great.

✅ 2. Using This Site — What’s Allowed

You’re welcome to use GrowMyGarden for personal, non-commercial purposes. That means reading the guides, running the calculators for your own garden planning, sharing articles with fellow gardeners, and referencing the content in honest, properly attributed ways.

Here’s what fair use looks like:

You can link to any page on GrowMyGarden from your own blog, social media, or website — that’s always appreciated. You can use the calculators as many times as you like for your own garden. You can print a guide for personal reference or share it with a friend who’s just starting out.

🚫 3. What You’re Not Allowed to Do

A few things are off-limits — and they’re all pretty common-sense:

Don’t copy and republish the content. The articles, calculator logic, guides, and any other written content on this site took real time and effort to create. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, or republish any of it — in full or in substantial part — on another website, publication, or platform without written permission.

Don’t use it commercially without permission. You can’t take content from GrowMyGarden and sell it, repackage it into a paid product, or use it to drive revenue for another business without explicit permission from me.

Don’t try to break or abuse the site. That means no hacking attempts, no automated scraping bots, no spam submissions through the contact form, and no attempts to interfere with how the site works for other visitors.

Don’t misrepresent the content. If you reference or quote something from GrowMyGarden, don’t take it out of context or present it in a way that’s misleading.

Basically — use the site the way it’s meant to be used. Be a good digital neighbor.

🧮 4. The Calculators — Understanding What They Do

The gardening calculators on this site (plant spacing, seed quantities, harvest yield, soil volume, watering schedules, fertilizer amounts, planting dates, and garden costs) are built to give you helpful estimates as a starting point for planning.

They are not engineered tools certified for professional or commercial farming use. The results they produce are based on general horticultural averages and reasonable assumptions — they don’t account for your exact soil composition, your specific microclimate, unusual weather patterns, the precise variety of plant you’re growing, or dozens of other real-world variables.

When you use a calculator on this site, the numbers it gives you are a guide — not a guarantee. Treat them the way you’d treat advice from a knowledgeable fellow gardener: useful, worth considering, but always worth cross-checking against your own experience and conditions.

I’m not responsible for gardening outcomes — including crop failures, plant losses, or over/under-purchasing of supplies — that result from following calculator estimates without applying your own judgment.

✍️ 5. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property

If you’d like to use a meaningful portion of the content — say, you’re writing a gardening book, creating a course, or want to feature a guide on your own website — just ask. I’m generally open to collaboration and reasonable requests. The answer isn’t automatically no. But I do ask that you check in first rather than assume.

For images: some images used on this site are sourced from licensed or royalty-free image providers. Those images are not mine to grant permission for — please check the original source if you want to reuse them.

If you believe any content on this site infringes on your intellectual property, please contact me directly through the Contact page. I take these concerns seriously and will respond promptly.

💬 6. Comments and Messages You Send

If you leave a comment on a post or reach out through the contact form, here’s how that works:

Comments on blog posts are moderated. I reserve the right to approve, reject, or remove any comment that contains spam, hate speech, misinformation, promotional content, or anything that’s off-topic or harmful to other readers. You’re responsible for what you write — make sure it’s your own content and that it doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights.

When you submit a comment, you’re giving GrowMyGarden permission to display it publicly on the site. I won’t sell your email address or use your contact details for anything other than replying to you.

🔗 7. Links to Other Websites

GrowMyGarden links out to third-party websites — seed companies, gardening organizations, research sources, product pages, and so on. These links are included because I think they’re genuinely useful.

But once you click a link and leave this site, you’re on someone else’s turf. Their content, privacy practices, and terms are entirely their own. I don’t control what they do, and I’m not responsible for anything that happens on an external site.

Always exercise your own judgment when visiting third-party sites, especially before making purchases.

💰 8. Affiliate Links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase — at no extra cost to you.

I want to be clear about how I handle this: I only link to products and resources I genuinely think are useful for home gardeners. I’m not going to throw in a random affiliate link just to make money. That’s not the kind of site this is.

Affiliate income helps cover the costs of running GrowMyGarden — hosting, tools, time — and keeps everything free for visitors. But it doesn’t change my editorial decisions or recommendations.

📢 9. Advertising

GrowMyGarden displays ads through Google AdSense and may use other ad networks. These ads are served automatically based on Google’s systems — I don’t hand-pick which ads appear on which pages.

The ad revenue helps keep this site free. I appreciate your understanding.

If you ever see an ad that seems inappropriate, misleading, or out of place on a gardening site, please let me know through the Contact page — I can flag it to Google.

⚠️ 10. No Guarantees — Being Honest About Limitations

GrowMyGarden makes no warranties or guarantees about:

The accuracy of every piece of content. Gardening advice is based on general knowledge and practical experience, but plants don’t read guidelines. Results vary widely based on climate, soil, care, timing, and plain old luck.

The availability of the site. I do my best to keep it running, but maintenance, hosting issues, or technical problems can occasionally take things offline. I’ll get it back up as soon as possible.

External links. Websites change. A link that worked perfectly last month might be broken or redirected now. I can’t monitor every external link in real-time.

Specific outcomes from using the calculators. As covered in Section 4, the tools give estimates — not precise engineering data.

Using this website is your decision, and you take on the responsibility that comes with it.

🔒 11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GrowMyGarden is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website, its content, or its tools.

This includes things like: financial loss from acting on gardening advice, crop or plant losses, or any damage resulting from reliance on calculator estimates.

This doesn’t mean I don’t care — it means that a free gardening website run by one person can’t be held responsible for every possible outcome in every garden around the world. That’s just reasonable.

🔄 12. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When I do, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will change. I won’t always send a notification, so if these things matter to you, it’s worth checking back occasionally.

Continuing to use GrowMyGarden after an update means you accept the revised terms.

🌍 13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by generally accepted principles of internet and digital publishing law. Since GrowMyGarden is visited by people from many different countries, I don’t tie these terms to one specific jurisdiction. If a dispute ever arises, I’d always prefer to resolve it simply and directly — please just reach out first.
